Aster trifoliatus subsp. ageratoides 'Ezo Murasaki'
This aster forms a rounded bush with large, vivid purple-violet flowers punctuated with prominent golden-yellow stems. It’s late flowers are an important source of nectar for bees before winter sets in. Great plant for bringing colour to your border later in the year. Our Uncle recently told us that grandad had a garden full of Asters just after the war, when plants were hard to come by, people loved seeing them and he received many compliments - bringing colour into a grey Post War world.
